The Bickerseiland, originally the “Vooreiland”, was named after the Bicker merchant family who owned the land. It is surrounded by the Bickersgracht, the Realengracht and the Westerdok.

There were ten shipyards on the Bickerseiland. At an early stage, a marina was built. There was a wooden beamed wooden church dating back to 1660, replaced by a stone building around 1736. Up to this day you’ll see a lot of it’s good preserved history in the streets. We recommend it as the perfect starting point to enjoy Amsterdam and have all the sights within walking proximity. The apartment is within a 15-minute walk of Noordermarkt and Anne Frank House. The Old Church and Dam Square are also within a 1 mile radius.
